The KG+ PHOTOBOOK FAIR will be held for the first time as an official program of KG+, a satellite event of KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival. Twenty publishers, bookstores, and printers will have booths to sell their photobooks at the KG＋SQUARE.
Last year’s KG+, which is now in its ninth year, attracted about 50,000 visitors during the entire 30-day event period amidst the Corona disaster.
Photobooks hold such a significant presence that they can be regarded as artworks in their own right. They are also the product of mutual inspiration between publishers, artists, and readers. This year’s KG+ PHOTOBOOK FAIR will be launched with the aim of directly communicating and expanding the appeal of photobooks and providing a new place of encounter with their readers.
