Takashi Suzuki | Are you my echo.

Takashi Suzuki‘s main interest lies in the act of seeing/looking, and its relationship with human perception and understanding. His creation is multilayered, using not only photography but also objects and video in order to present the gaps and discrepancies between actual phenomena and the images that capture them, as well as the fluctuation of human perception caused by such gaps and discrepancies. In recent years Suzuki has been working on the construction of space by adopting the method of montage, putting together different pieces of art and turning the whole gallery into an experimental space/artwork. Suzuki always selects a certain keyword to define such display, and for this forthcoming solo exhibition the keyword is “echo.” Within the machiya townhouse building that dates back more than 90 years, the phenomenon and the concept of “echo” produce intricate reverberations.
